Loved this store. I grew up in Orcutt. Had a lot of friends that worked and bagged there during high school.

I lived on South E Street in Lompoc when I was a kid, in the 1970s-1980s. My friends and I would walk down to Williams Bros on South E x Ocean St. on the weekends with money we earned cleaning chalkboards at Hapgood Elementary

This is so great! It is nice to know people still remember my dad and uncles. They all worked so hard to build a "family" grocery store.

It was always exciting to meet Merrell in our E. Main St. store, shaking hands warmly, and asking if he could help us. All the employees were great, friendly and helpful. It will always be my favorite store of all time, with Spencer's coming in second. This is a great website...keep up the good work!

Great site! Glad to know there are still 'fans' of the Arkansas Bros (Ed, Merrell and Lawson). There were some very good people working for them to make the markets successful. People like: Tom Hyland, Wayne Gochenour, John Spencer, Dave Skelton, the stores' managers and the office staff. Great times!

I remember Williams Bros on Donovan in Santa Maria. That was our grocery store. I remember going to there at night, and right across the street
was Park Aire Drive-in, all lit up. It later changed to Vons in about...I want to say 1992? Then on August 14, 1994, the store closed it's doors for good. I
even remember the Williams Bros commercial of 1989, with the Jingle: "What a difference, What a difference, What a difference Williams Brothers Markets can make!"
